This project aims to examine the circumstances under which it is or is not technically and / or economically feasible to upgrade waste heat via industrial heat pumps to a useful temperature level. The answer will be partly provided by computer simulations and mathematical models but also through the design of a high temperature heat pump, the construction of a scale model and the elaboration of several industrial case studies.
