Water sector
Flanders is according to an OECD study, the fourth poorest country / region in terms of water availability. Sufficient available (drinking) water is a big challenge of the water sector. Second, the domestic wastewater must be treated so that the quality of groundwater and surface water at least meets the European standards. Vlakwa helps the water sector in initiating targeted (international) research- and development projects and demonstration projects, provides strategic advice and support the international valorisation of the knowledge of the Flemish water sector.
